Visit the heart and soul of the city that never sleeps. Once downtown, take a short walking tour, stopping at the Charging Bull and Trinity Church, before making your way to the 9/11 Memorial. Gain a deeper understanding of the events surrounding the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 and the acts of heroism that rallied America, then take a guided tour of the 9/11 Memorial Pools.
Enjoy behind-the-scenes access to the studios where your favourite shows are made, like Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show, starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers and more.
An NBC page will serve as your host and behind-the-scenes expert, guiding you through the historic halls of 30 Rock. You’ll learn about the entire TV production process, from the writing process and producing to the ways TV content gets to your home.
During the tour, you’ll see the spectacular, fully restored Art Deco rotunda and grand staircase in the lobby; the NBC Production Gallery; the NBC Broadcast Operations Center and at least two NBC studios. Then get hands-on in the Tour Studio, where you get to create your own show with fellow guests. You’ll even get a copy of your masterpiece.
A trip to New York is not complete without a visit to one of Manhattan’s trendiest areas – the Meatpacking District! On the journey you will see one of the newest architectural revivals in New York: the High Line, which has transformed the 1930s freight-rail structure on Manhattan’s West Side into a mile-and-a-half-long elevated park.
Take a peaceful amble through this integrated landscape that combines concrete pathways with natural greenery, passing through the Meatpacking District, West Chelsea, and Hell’s Kitchen. Explore some of the artisanal shops, boutiques, vendors and restaurants at famous Chelsea Market, one of the greatest indoor food halls in the world.
What could be more fun than a bicycle ride through Central Park with a guide who knows all the stories? On this customized tour, you’ll pass some of the park’s most interesting and recognizable locations, like the Central Park Boathouse overlooking the Lake; the Great Lawn where Simon and Garfunkel performed for half a million fans in 1981; the famous Bethesda Terrace and Fountain; and Strawberry Fields, a section of garden named in honour of John Lennon.
On the morning of May 30, we are offering a fun and informative (optional) guest program. From a guided walk through Central Park to learning about health and wellness, this event will be a great way to spend your last day in NYC!
The morning’s activities will be emceed by Bill Jack, Senior Vice President Financial Services and will include both Carolyn Carney and Leslie Kinzel as hosts for part of this program. A couple highlights of this program include a presentation from Dr. Natasha Turner, and a Forest Cleanse in Central Park led by Carolyn Carney.

Come join in on an enchanting walk through Central Park where Carolyn Carney will share the magic of forest bathing, combined with nature based coaching wisdom, and the art of play. Tap into the healing powers of nature in a delightful forest cleanse. It’s also a chance to get a glimpse of some historic and modern culture in this iconic oasis in the middle of New York City, including the Strawberry Fields section of the park with the “Imagine” memorial mosaic. Wear comfortable clothes for a leisurely stroll.
This event is a great opportunity to meet other guests, some who are new to President’s Academy, and spend time in an informal setting hearing from interesting speakers. More speaker details to follow.
Both the meeting and the Central Park tour are optional and there is no cost to attend.
See the famous landmarks of America’s capital! The tour will include views of Lafayette Square and the White House; the inaugural parade route along Pennsylvania Avenue; the Washington Monument; and the U.S. Capitol Building. Pass the Smithsonian Museums and National Gallery of Art, then visit the National Mall to view the Lincoln Memorial. Complete this special look at Washington with a stop at the nearby Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and Korean Veterans War Memorial.
The United States Capitol is among the most architecturally impressive and symbolically important buildings in the world. Tour the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, the Rotunda, National Statuary Hall and the crypt with a member of the U.S. Historical Society. Then make your way to the Library of Congress via the underground tunnel system that links the Capitol building to other government buildings. The Library of Congress (the research library of the United States Congress) is the oldest federal cultural institution in the United States. It is also the largest library in the world by shelf space and number of books!
It is estimated that there are more than 141 million total objects, works of art and specimens displayed at the Smithsonian Museums located in the heart of Washington. You can’t see all these artifacts today, but you can take an in-depth guided tour of one of the Smithsonian’s most popular museums. The American History Museum aims to inspire a broader understanding of America and its many peoples. Here you will see items like the First Ladies’ inaugural gowns, Dorothy’s ruby-red slippers from The Wizard of Oz, a fragment of Plymouth Rock, and Julia Child’s kitchen, to name just a few!
Enjoy a unique, active, and environmentally friendly way to enjoy Washington! This easy three-hour tour features over 50 of the capital’s most famous attractions. Ride around the National Mall and the Potomac’s Tidal Basin, making frequent stops along the way to walk around the various memorials. Visit the grounds surrounding the White House, the MLK Memorial, the Washington Monument, and the Lincoln, Jefferson, Vietnam, and Franklin Roosevelt Memorial, to name just a few. The bike tour will be a leisurely bike ride with stops for photos and viewing of the memorials.
Visit Mount Vernon, the plantation home of George Washington, first president of the United States, and his wife, Martha Dandridge Custis Washington. Located 15 miles south of Washington, DC along the scenic Potomac River, the historic estate – a national treasure – includes not only George and Martha’s mansion, but also a host of colonial-era buildings, beautiful gardens, a working distillery and gristmill, and a fascinating interactive museum and education centre.
Connect to DC’s jazziest community on a stroll through the U Street corridor. Discover the foods that repaired a rioting city, and sample diverse cuisines of cultures that have come to call DC home. If you listen closely, you might even hear the funky notes of DC’s home-grown musical genre, go-go music!
Sample the classic flavours unique to the district and discover the new tastes that are shaping its culinary evolution as we continue down the street, while stopping to hear stories behind local murals, buildings and sculptures that define the city’s heritage.
